On-Going Mission Service Opportunities

RBA OFFICE (3111 Moss Side Avenue, Richmond)

·        Serve on associational committees

·        Work on the grounds (trim branches, cut trees, clean flower beds, etc.)

·        Repair and paint roof and exterior of utility garage

·        Network for disaster relief services

·        Assist with ministry to the homeless at First Baptist Church (Grace Fellowship)

·        Provide meals for VCU and UR Baptist Collegiate Ministries program

CAMP ALKULANA (Bath County, Virginia)

·        Summer staff (counselors, nurses, cooks, mentors)

·        Preparation work days in May of each year

·        Handymen and handywomen for special projects all year round

·        Serve as mentors to campers (one-year program in Richmond)

·        Sponsor a child or teen to be able to go to camp

CHURCH HILL, OREGON HILL, AND SOUTH RICHMOND BAPTIST CENTERS

·        Help with after-school programs for children and youth

·        Tutoring / homework assistance

·        Mentoring for children and youth

·        Provide snacks for the children's programs

·        Assist with school book-bag collection and distribution

·        Assist with summer day camps

·        Help with recreation and sports

·        Provide Bible studies

·        Provide child care for special activities

·        Help collect, sort and distribute clothing

·        Assist with weekly food distribution

·        Assist with Christmas Stores, collecting, sorting, displaying, aide shoppers and clean up

·        Conduct special interest classes (sewing, computers, music, financial management, job

training, parenting, expectant mothers, crafts, exercise, nutrition, CPR, First Aid etc.)

·        Provide senior adult activities

·        Provide transportation to the DMV, doctor's office, etc.

·        Do minor house repairs for the elderly

·        Help with repair and maintenance at the centers

·        Paint the Oregon Hill Activities Building

·        Do grant research and grant writing

·        Share your special talent or skill

·        Be a prayer partner
