Nita May's Biography
Nita serves as the Regional Ministries Coordinator for Central Virginia Baptist Ministries (CVBM). A venture of Dover, Middle District and Richmond Baptist Associations, CVBM was designed to carry out shared missions and ministries among the 178 churches in the three associations.
Nita is a graduate of Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond where she earned her MDiv degree. She has served as pastor of Boulevard Baptist Church, Associate of Missions Innovation/Women’s Involvement for WMU of Virginia, and Director of Programs for the VEFC organization, a non-profit ministry that serves children-in-crisis across the Commonwealth.
Active in missions, Nita has served on the mission field in Africa, Eastern Europe, Central America, North America, South America, and Canada. She has coordinated and worked on numerous mission opportunities here at home as well as in locations such as the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota and as part of a Disaster Relief team to New York City following the terrorist attack.
Nita is a frequent speaker and conference leader. She is married to Wayne May and they have three adult sons. Both Nita and Wayne have served in numerous roles in their home church, Lyndale Baptist.
